Baskets and Flowers

Jeannette has made this pretty basket and flowers quilt using the Inklingo 6″ basket collection for the basket blocks.

She writes:

“I made this quilt using the 6″ basket block. The baskets were all hand pieced. I made the flower panels and blanket stitched around the flowers by machine. This was a quilt as you go project. I stipple quilted around each basket and echo quilted the full length of each flower panel before joining them together. The quilt measures 50″ x 70″.”

A lovely close-up of a section of the baskets and flowers quilt.

Joseph’s Coat

Cathy in TN has been persuaded to show her Joseph’s Coat WIP to us all.
Remember that this collection was issued on June 18th ! so Cathy has been a busy bee 🙂

Cathy writes
I am making a queen-size quilt, about 90 x 110″. So far I have 4 rows, which makes the current piece about 90 x 24″. I am enjoying it so much. This pattern is just a delight to piece.
On the Inklingo Yahoo-group, she told us that she is using the “Summer Breeze” collection by Sentimental Studios for Moda

Pickled Clamshells

Jeannette from South Australia is (once again !) quietly finishing one beautiful quilt after another. This one with Pickled Clams and Flying Geese.
Jeannette writes :
The Clams are all hand pieced and the Flying Geese are machine pieced. The Geese measure 1.5 x 3″. I used 1.5″ HST from Collection 2 [ed. sold out, but the 1.5″ HST is in the 00B HST collection too] and 4.25″ unprinted squares for the Geese, and 9″ Pickle Clamshells.
I am very happy with the way it all went together. It was easy peasy.

Size of quilt 49.5 x 63″

Pies and Tarts

Cathy in TN has started a quilt with the brand new Pies and Tarts collection. It’s a collaboration between Linda Franz and Sue Daley. Cathy writes :
I’m sending a pic of my Pies and Tarts progress. Don’t know if I’ll ever geti t square as I just seem to keep adding in random fashion, but I think it’s coming together nicely and is such a pleasure to piece. (I am hand piecing it).
Don’t think it looks much like Pies an Tarts, so I am renaming my quilt ‘Beachballs in the Sand”.

Cathy is hand-piecing, and it looking real good so far, Cathy 🙂

Winding Ways

Barbara in North Carolina writes :
I am working on a Winding Ways quilt using the 9″ block. I have these 25 blocks finished but need 72 for the quilt. This is not the final arrangement, but I throw the blocks up as I finish them. This is to be a wedding gift for my daughter. She loves Japanese taupes, so I am using those, with a few red and blue punches. My goal is to have the quilt finished so I can take it on the plane to her marriage celebration in May

I have a long way to go, and I may have overestimated what I can accomplish in the time left!

… but it sure is looking great Barbara. Look forward to see the finished project !
